Update Information

From: Agnès Chartrand
Musée canadien de la nature/Canadian Museum of Nature

The Canadian Museum of Nature stopped the publishing of the Global biodiversity / La biodiversité mondiale magazine in 1999. The information should therefore be replaced by the following:

The Canadian Museum of Nature established Global biodiversity / La biodiversité mondiale in 1991. At that time it was one of the first publications in the world devoted to the subject of biodiversity. The magazine has evolved over the years to become an informative medium, attracting leading authors on many important biodiversity issues, and delivered to an international audience.

During the magazine's tenure, the Museum has experienced a number of challenges and changes. In 1999, the decision to end Global biodiversity / La biodiversité mondiale was made within the context of the Museum's fiscal reality. I hope that you can appreciate the fact that this Museum can no longer sustain this journal financially.

Your readership, interest and support over the past 12 years have been greatly appreciated. You can order back issues online at the cost of $1 an issue by visiting our website, specifically www.nature.ca/prodserv/cat/main_e.cfm.

You can also send your prepaid order by mail at:

I hope that your interest in biodiversity conservation will continue with enthusiasm and success, as will ours.
