Cities for People
In this second special issue in our series on the eco-city, we look at the city's human-made environment and what it means for sustainability. As we will see, urban planning involves more than lot sizes and setbacks. How houses and stores are arranged with respect to each other and how people move around in the city have a big impact on the quality and ecological sustainability of people's lives. We also look at some environmentally friendly homes, and at ways of feeding city people from local farms.
