This report is a collaborative effort initiated by the Ottawa Food Security Group and the Region of Ottawa-Carleton Health Department in the fall of 2000 (before the amalgamation of Regional government into the new City of Ottawa in January 1, 2001).
The project Steering Committee: Moe Garahan, James Kuhns, Tasmin Rajotte and Debra Reid, would like to extend our sincere thanks to Holly Milton, for her research and preparation of this report, and to Tracey Lauriault of the Social Planning Council of Ottawa-Carleton for sharing her expertise and SPC resources in the generation of the community maps.
The Ottawa Food Security Group is a community organization with a mainly volunteer base. Their consultations, contributions, ongoing feedback and review of this report were done predominantly on a volunteer basis.
In the preparation of this report, two volunteer members must be recognized for their commitment and outstanding contributions. Both James Kuhns and Tasmin Rajotte worked tirelessly as members of the project Steering Committee as well as completing the work of the mapping component.
